Growing coffee in the Naimeg family is a family affair. It began with Jorge's father, Gerson Naimeg, the son of German immigrants, and his wife, Hercilia Mafra. They started in the coffee business in 1965 with their first coffee plantation in the northern region of Paraná. In 1981, after suffering three devastating frosts, they decided to move to a new region. Gerson Naimeg decided to emigrate to the Cerrado Mineiro region. The Pântano family farm is located in the Cerrado Mineiro region, where coffee production is extremely diverse. The Naimeg group grows several varieties on their 705 hectare farm: Acaia, Yellow Bourbon, Yellow Catuai and Red Catuai.
